I have an HP Pavilion 750c that made a funny noise, like an electrical 'pop' recently. The only 2 resulting problems is that no optical drives will work on the board, either internal OR connected by a USB cable (it doesn't matter which header is used, and a different ribbon cable didn't matter).

The other problem is that there is no network connectivity now. I can PING 127.0.0.1 and get a response from my onboard Ethernet controller, but that's it. I installed a PCI NIC and tried a known Ethernet cable, but no help at all.

So I know I have a problem, but I am interesting in knowing - What on the motherboard (chipset, etc.) actually controls these two functions? Also, if anyone has a good used MB for sale for this PC, send me an e-mail ;)

Had some chest pains tonight and went to the ER. Was not sure if it was my heart or my anxiety problem that occurs pretty frequent. It turned out to be chest pains from brochitis. It was inflamed. While there they took 2 blood pressure readings, one was a little high and one was like 143/103 which I know is quite high. I was REALLY worked up and REALLY nervous about what was wrong with me tonight. Could that be why my BP was up? I am going to the doctor tommorrow but I am kind of worried tonight. I am hoping it was "white coat syndrome". Does this happen to anyone else?

My fiancee and I were recently arguing about love and such, he old me that he hopes that if we don't work out I find someone that I am crazy about but they don't want anything to do with me and it breaks my heart. Fyi that is how he says I am with him but he is just really sensitive. Anyhow I replied with that it would never happen because I will never be so attached to anyone where I feel that my life can not go on. I think that life goes on and just because this one thing did not work out doens't mean that my life is over, it may hurt but the world is not going to fall off of it's axis. He said this means that I will never truly love someone. I think my view is very realistic... Opinions

My jokes could be termed as dirty and vulgar, but they are aimed towards adults. i.e. above 17 yrs old, who are back from a hard day's work & want something to chill out to.

But unfortunately it looks like there are barely any adults in this section this last few weeks, most of the people I see here are either schoolkids or the oversensitive, overprotected religious minds who can't differentiate between humour & discrimination.

So, anyway I wanna know that if you are finding my jokes too adult and dirty, then I'll stop posting them here. What do you say?
