We want to get married on an Australian Island (live in Victoria), we have told my in laws that we will pay for flights and accomodation for them to take part in our wedding day. They have said they wont come! Why wont they come to our wedding day? Is it me they dont approve of?

...change his myspace from "single" to "in a relationship".

See, a girl left a very flirty comment on his page the other day so I asked him to change his status to "in a relationship" so people will know he is taken.
He DID change it today, and I thanked him.
However, my friend said that by me requesting he change it, I've become one of those pain in the a s s girlfriends that is possessive.

Was my friend right?? Should I have just left him alone, or was I correct in making him change his status.

I do not want him to start thinking I am a jealous nag.

First of all, I know cigarettes are bad for you but why don't they minimise the damage? I mean, for starters, why do they have to put chemicals into cigarettes (like cyanide, benzene, etc.) when tobacco does not contain any of these compounds? Tobacco is a plant and should not have harmful ingredients in it other than nicotine. Why is it impossible to sell cigarettes containing nothing but tobacco? I understand that these chemicals will make the ciggies burn faster and other tricky things but I'm sure if those additives weren't there in the first place then cigarettes would be nowhere near as harmful. So it should be nicotine and the carbon dioxide/monoxide only that poisoning us. In addition, they could put some vitamins and minerals into cigarettes so that at least some good can be inhaled with the bad.

ok - i read on yahoo today that women can tell from guys faces if they have a hormonal tendency towards being fatherly types or macho men, and that women prefer to have flings with macho men but make husbands out of family guys. so unlike guys, who natural want to get with all women all the time to spread their genes, women have a natural tendency to want a different kind of guy at different times.

of course - in today's society you can't do both. but apparantly in the animal world monogomous animals lke birds, the females 'cheat' with hottie males and have make love to their normal males to keep the nest. in people, women are most likely to cheat when ovulating.

So what if society was built around at least some men getting many partners, other men getting steady sex, and women getting both the mates and flings with no regrets? Its science fiction, but imagine that disease prevention, birth control, and paternity testing eliminated the need for enforced monogamy. Women could commit to a guy for the long term, but still fulfill her desires when nature calls. Naturally, there would be a group of guys who got a lot of different women, and another group that got a steady stream of sex with one.

If you can put yourself in such a world, is it paradise or hell? Who is it best to be? Who is it worst to be? And what role would you most likely play, and why?
