It depends on the area you live in. Some towns require that you get a permit before having one. Fortunately, I live in an area that doesn't require a garage sale permit, but some nearby towns DO require one, so I would check with your town hall first before having one just to be sure.

It depends on your local laws. Our city requires a permit that costs $5. some cities don't have any restrictions. Another city I know limits people to two garage sales a year. Check with your local city department for the rules for your city.

In our town you do, so call city hall to find out. It only cost $2.50 and you have to post the sign. They do it to track how many yard sales you have in a year, some people were making their living holding sales every weekend, running a business with out license or permits

NO. Unless you are a kid and your going to try and sell off things that do not belong to you. .true story parents were at work and the children had a garage sale mom and dad came home and furniture was gone.

depends on the town or village. you're supposed to get one where i am but nobody does. Cops won't bother you unless you're out everyday for a long time.
