As a child I had a very high IQ (it's probably plummeted since then), yet I did not learn how to tie my shoes until I was about ten. I really did make an effort, but simply couldn't accomplish the task. Since adulthood I have met many very intelligent people, including some child prodigies, who had the same difficulty learning to tie at a young age; some didn't learn until the age of 12 or 13.

Is the inability to learn such menial tasks a sign of intelligence in small children?

I am taking my daughter to Chicago for a 3 days 'girls trip' in February. We are already doing the whole American Girl shopping day and are staying at the Wyndham but wondered of any 'must see or do's' I can take her on or places to eat etc.

I was thinking...the problem with lotteries these days is they are so one-dimensional and uninspirational....

Do you think the U.S. government and perhaps the EU should hold a joint a space lottery to allow an ordinary citizen to go into space rather than just all these billionaires?

I know they are talking about space travel by plane by 2020 etc but it seems to me that a space lottery would fire up world imagination, progress developments in alternative technologies and produce income for the government for eg: environemental research.....

How long will it take? and what can i do to lose it. I cant exercise a great deal at the moment as im moving home and there are boxes everywhere, also my son is off school and he wont walk anywhere with me so i cant evan go on long walk. plz read this before answering

take a rigid,uniform ring.now put some force on it to rotate it.now by some arrangement remove all the external forces from its vicinity.

now if U see the ring it will be rotating and each of its particle is undergoing a circular motion.

----who is providing the 'centripetal force' to particle now?.and
----shouldnt the ring eventually stop without any external force?.
(i assumed a complete inertial frame of reference)

please explain in detail.
