The name Amanda is my name and I think it's great. There was not a lot of teasing as a child. Mostly just cute little nicknames like Manda Panda or Mandy of course. The only thing that I don't really like about it is that it is VERY common. There were several girls named Amanda in school. Otherwise I think it is a beautiful name.

Amanda is my cousin. I also work with a woman named Amanda. I like the name. It has the option of the nickname Mandy, although none of the Amanda's I know use that.

First I think of Amanda Bearse, the cutie from All My Children who later starred in Married With Children. Then I think of the the famous prank call from The Simpsons where Moe is tricking into saying "I want Amanda Huginkiss. (a man to hug and kiss)"

I know 2 Amandas. One is a horrible person that cheated on her husband with his uncle and then took the two kids and ran off with him and made his life pretty miserable too. The other is a total air head that sleeps with her boss and acts like she's friends with his wife and pretends to care about his little daughter.
Unfortunately i have not had a postive experience with any Amanda to this day.
