I just don't understand that. A guy was just here and he was saying that his mother is 88 yrs old. He said SHE'S lucky to still be alive. How is that lucky? She can hardly see, bearly hear, gets along rather slowly and painfully at that. Why do people say it's luck to be alive when the living conditions are poor at best?
What's so great about being here? My alternative is heaven. Once I am gone I'll be in heaven. It doesn't get any better than that. Help me to understand what makes some people so darn glad to be here. Everywhere I look, I see pain and misery, suffering and hardship, struggles and turmoil. My husband says "I'm thankful God allowed me to live another day". Why? So you can work from sun up to sun down to pay bills. So you can feel the arthritis in your knees and back some more. I want Windows to configure my wireless settings automatically. In my Wireless Network Connection Properties, I have "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings" checked. So it should work, right? Well, it does, but only for this session; if my computer goes to stand by, when I wake it up it won't connect and the "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings" box is unchecked. How can I get this box to always stay checked? What could be causing this issue?

I just got in to an argument with some guy in the pub because I called one of my patients a spastic.

See, here's the thing, the patient has spasticia, the correct medical definition for his diagnosis. In the medical profession, we often use the term spastic, as "special needs" is too broad a term.

Anyway, this asshole in the pub said something like "That's the problem with the NHS these days, nobody gives a sh*t about the patients".

While it's fair to say that I DON'T give a sh*t about the patients, I was wondering why he, who has absolutely nothing to do with the NHS, or spastics, or even the conversation I was having with someone else that he butted in to, would get offended by what I said. Any ideas?

At my parents' holiday gatherings, it's always the same. The guys go into the living room and sit on their butts while the women are expected to be in the kitchen making final meal preparations (after having spent the previous day(s) with food preparation), then the women set the table, and the guys are called in. Guys then proceed to dominate the meal conversations, then they get up when done and go back to sitting on their butts in the living room talking and watching football while the women clean up.
I'm the only girl in my family, with three brothers. I am so sick of this, and have suggested to my mother we either go out to a restaurant or have the guys do the meal, but she says no. And seeing as she's the family matriarch, it always goes her way. I'm seriously considering not attending future such gatherings. Would appreciate any suggestions/feedback from women.

I got a first responce pregnancy test yesterday, and it came with three tests in it. My cycle isnt due until the 28th but I have been feeling some of the symptoms of pregnancy so I tested. The first test that I took had one dark line and one very faint line. I took that one at night so I decided to wait til in the morning to test again. I did and got the same result. So I asked my friend to take a test just to see if maybe the test was not working right, so she did and got a dark line with no hint of another one. So am I pregnant!!!!!????

It was people dressed up in costumes (wasn't animated) It was these animals that belonged to a Circus. I can't recall what the animals were. There might have been something like Tiger, there was a female animal that always wore a tutu, and when she giggled or laughed she'd cover her face with her hands (paws). Anyone remember it? It was maybe late 80's early 90's show.

Hi, I have a long-term boyfriend but when we were going through bit of a rough period, i was seeing someone else. I recently found out that I am 10 wks pregnant, which could only mean that I got pregnant by the person i was seeing because I was not sleeping with my boyfriend at the time. Although we used contraception most of the times, the last time we didn't and i took the morning after pill. So how can I possibly be pregnant? And who is likely to be the father?

How on earth have you managed to stay happy in Uk. It is raining, overcast, getting dark already. For how long roundabout 6 months hey. Ohhh and another thing, i was always under the impression British people are white of skin, no son, but most of the people i see on tv etc have got tan's. Do you go on Holiday to Spain how many times a year to stay so tanned.
Is it true that most Brits have fish and chips on a Friday. My Brother in SA always sends me a message on a Friday saying enjoy your fish and chips and dont forget your weekly bath.:)))) Don't take that too personal, that is what some Brits in SA told us.
