Hi, I have a long-term boyfriend but when we were going through bit of a rough period, i was seeing someone else. I recently found out that I am 10 wks pregnant, which could only mean that I got pregnant by the person i was seeing because I was not sleeping with my boyfriend at the time. Although we used contraception most of the times, the last time we didn't and i took the morning after pill. So how can I possibly be pregnant? And who is likely to be the father?

I'm sorry you're in such a mess, your head must be all over the place... The only thing you can do that would be fair on the baby is be honest with both the potential fathers and after the baby is born do a peternity test. But you can't hide this confusion from the two men, that would be completely unfair. From the sound of it I think it was probably the guy you were seeing, the morning after pill is in no way a guarentee that you won't get pregnant. But I'm not a doctor. Good luck with the baby Xx

Isn't really much you can do at the moment. If you have a rough idea when you ovulated (10-16 days after your last period started) and were only sleeping with one person at that time then that might give you a good idea but even then its not failsafe.

Only thing you can really do is wait till the baby's born and have a blood test.

If you used contraception and took the morning after pill, well as long as you used it properly (no broken condoms etc) its unlikely you would be pregnant by that one guy. It might still be your boyfriend's.

But its really hard to say.

You answered the question yourself partly. The father is the poor bugger you were riding when going through the rough period. The reason you got pregnant is through not using contraception. The morning after pill doesnot work all the time! Be brave and tell the poor little sod he is going to be a daddy and watch him **** himself on the spot. Then get yourself ready for being a mother. No more alcohol, waking up 4 times a night to feed the child, labour pains, stretch marks, constant crying and worrying, smelly nappies. Apart from that kids are great.

This is the problem with you americans. You ppl are worried about your early age pregnancy syndroms and yet again everyone's enjoying being pregnant. You know it yourself that doing things whatever you did will make you pregnant yet you like to give it a try. You will never realize that things like these are prohibited in your religion and this simply badly affects the whole society but you gyz dont care coz you love to enjoy every inch of the .... Examples like these wont stop you even from trying it next time. To you ppl having sex is the only thing in the world and so you cant think about anything else. Its too pathetic that you dont have the ability to understand the worst consequences that will happen to your society in the future. Well best of luck.

"...Although we used contraception MOST of the times..." Well, sorry to say but it is not rocket science as to how you can possibly be pregnant, is it? If you weren't sleeping with your long term boyf at the time then laws of nature suggest the baby would belong to the guy who you WERE sleeping with at the time. I don't envy you this one, but you must be honest with both fellas otherwise this one will come back to bite you on the **** for sure. A lie told now will be more unforgiveable if found out well into the future.

Well it's no good preaching - what is done is done - I think you have to check your dates. You were likely to conceive 14 days before your expected period. (The one you were expecting but didn't get) If this doesn't tell you the answer you will have to wait until the baby is born and do DNA tests. Statistically it is more likely to be your boyfriends. What would his reaction be to your being pregnant and again if you thought it wasn't his?
Honesty is the best policy - then you won't have any secrets that could come to light years later when you may be married and have more children. Whatever you decide I wish you well.

I am not going to comment on your reasons for having an affair thats up to you to come to terms with.

Ask the other person to do a DnA test, from your description of events it seems likely. I think they have a right to know dont you? If they are not the father your problem is solved, if they are then you have a problem that can be resolved. Ignoring it is not going to help you. Ok lets say you can justify hiding it from your partner and the other guy never puts 2 and 2 together or doesnt care.... Are you going to hide it from your child? If they find out will they forgive you? Would you?

dont forget if they say your 10 weeks pregnant then conception was about 8 weeks ago so look back to then or go to a due date calculator (just type it in google) and it will tell you on some of them the date you conceived or when you get your scan you will have an accurate date and you can work it out from there x

Tricky. 10 weeks pregnant would mean that you actually conceived approx 8 weeks ago, as they count from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). See your doctor/midwife to discuss dates and cycles for you in more detail.

No contraception/abortifacient is 100% foolproof.
