Discussions on Y!A tend toward asserting one opinion as wholy correct and the other wholy incorrect. This goes for Christianity v. Islam, Atheist v. Theist, Episcopalian v. Baptist, joking responses v. serious responses.

Does forcing ourselves to see only two sides of an issue limit our ability to perceive other possibilities? Or are the GOOD v. EVIL discussions based on some immutable reality?

Call this a little experiment.

A father has a 13 year old son that lives with him. The son has been getting in a lot of trouble for his attitude and disrespectful behaviour in school. He is in counseling and the talk is he might even have to go on meds. The father is all ready gone twice a week in the evenings on school nights, the son spends 1/2 of those evenings with his mother, but then is home without his dad being there for at least an hour or so after he gets home at 8:00 from his mothers. The father is considering another activity which would take him out of the house at least one more day during the week and occassionally on week-ends. Is this a good idea to leave the son alone so much? What would you tell him about the importance of spending more time with his son? What else comes to mind when you think of this scenerio?

There are far too many criminals getting paroled or slap-on-the-wrist sentences because we simply do not have enough room to warehouse the scumbags. We need to alleviate some of this overcrowding by building more prisons. It doesn't have to cost alot. Sheriff Joseph Arpaio has his inmates living in tents.

American scales read in pounds, because pounds can be pounds force or pounds mass, but Kilograms are just mass, the unit of force is Neutons, which take into account the force of gravity.

Please shed light on the Gospels?

The crucifixion is estimated to have taken place around 33 AD.

The Gospels were written approximately between 40 A.D. to as late as 140 A.D.

So without any type of recording devise or even a note pad how did any one person remember ever word Jesus uttered?

Most people can not even tell a story word for word an hour later let alone years later….

When the words were documented they were at best slightly misquoted… then after going through numerous translations they continue to lose meaning…..

Also there is not much history on Mathew, Mark, Luke or John anywhere so how do we know they were legit?
