I own a condo, which I'm renting out. The tenant was supposed to pay a one month security deposit. He only paid a portion of it when he signed the lease and said he would pay the balance in two weeks. After numerous calls and promises, I'm assuming he just doesn't have the money. I am not as concerned with getting the security deposit, as I am that he may try to get back a full month's rent when he moves out. What steps should I take to protect myself?
