Ok here is my situation. I was in an accident when i was 18. I joined the navy when i was 19. Here is the problem apparently this woman sued me. But in texas a subpoena can be accepted by a legal guardian. My legal guardian was my mother. But here is where, and sadly, the plot thickens. Apparently my mother accepted the subpoena for me but never told me about it and then shortly after she died in a car accident. I didnt even find out i was sued until i was in the navy over two years. I went to renew my liscense and they said i had a not status on my liscense. I went to navy legal and they told me some dumb *** anser about the civil servicemans's act but didnt tell what i was actually covered under. So my question is this if the lawsuit went down after me joining the navy am i covered? and what exactly does being covered mean? do i have to pay her the 5 g's or is it just a deferment plan. i went to the web site but i didnt understand the mumbo jumbo law terms. Please help!
