The Iraqis never understood the meaning of 'democracy' from the west's perception. Most of us knew that. Too bad Bush didn't...

Thu Oct 12, 2006 12:37pm ETWASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States has quietly retreated from its high-profile push for democracy in the Muslim world.
The Hamas election stunned the Bush administration by bringing a violent militant group to power.
U.S. policy-makers saw the Hamas victory in the Palestinian territories as part of a potentially dangerous trend following democratic gains for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The experience in Iraq, which U.S. officials once envisioned as the catalyst for democratic change in Arab countries, has emerged instead as a disturbing symbol of sectarian strife. Frankly, the administration has retreated even from a passive push for democracy. Washington is now largely silent about actions taken by Middle East regimes to suppress political opposition.

Where in the OLD TESTAMENT does it prophesy that if Israel and Judah reject the NT that the gentiles get the opportunity? Seeing how both Jews and Christians are indeed still teaching their neighbors about the Lord...How in any way shape or form could the NT possibly be in effect? Not only does it outline the new covenant but it says what will happen as a result and uh, those results just are not happening. The Jewish community isn't in contradiction here but the Christians sure as heck are.

I don't need to hear the typical atheist/non-believer criticisms. I was a believer for over 30 years and it was reading the bible in context, without all the apologetic rhetoric, that brought me the truth.

My father keeps returning to narcotics. Him and my mother own a business and he's killing it with the abuse. Without the business, we can't afford the house, which won't sell in Michigan's horrible economic climate. I feel trapped between trying to make him understand the situation and finding a way to plan out how to sell the house and not go bankrupt. Help!

I take a shower every single day, but as my hair dries, the smell of the shampoo is gone and it's replaced by a different odor. I don't know what's causing it. I use paul Mitchell tea tree shampoo. it started when I was 12 or 11. It use to be REALLY bad, but its not too bad anymore, but i still feel uncomfortable being around people a few hour after I shower. I always see my friends having a good time and I want to, but If I get close too them and they smell my hair, well the'll say im dirty. Im not a smoker, my parents arent smokersand i dont eat greasy foods. i dont have greasy hair like I use too, but its still gets greasy a little bit, and i really dont have a acne problem just the norm for my age. im 15.

I just bought a floor pump with a pressure gauge.

After I pump up the tire to its appropriate pressure, I want to use the guage the next day or after a ride to check the pressure. But when I do this, the guage shows a low reading and it takes two or three pumps to get it back to the right pressure.

Am I overfilling my tube if I do this?
