Would the springs inside a bathroom scale be more compressed or less compressed if you weighed yourself in an elevator that accelerated upward? Downward?

Hi all. Am getting married at the moon palace resort in cancun mexico in april and i am getting increasingly more nervous about the wedding and resort being as how i have never been there.
