So...I've been dating this guy for 5 months or so and we both aren't seeing anyone else...I wonder when and how should I ask him if were exclusive.

We are both in our late twenties and it seems so high schoolish to say...hey do you want to be my boyfriend...am I wrong to think that?

I went through a similar situation with my now-fiance when we started dating. You're right, it was a weird topic to bring up. Anyway, one day, he told me that he was talking to one of his buddies and told him that I was his girlfriend. And then he said something like, "Yeah, my friends think you're my girlfriend. Have your PR people call my PR people if that's a problem." Anyway, it was nice that he approached it with some humor. I think too that you're in a good place because you've been seeing each other for almost half a year - that's a good sign! Good luck!

No it's not wrong to want to know where a relationship stands. If I were in your shoes I would ask him how he feels about your relationship and if he would consider it exclusive. If he says yes, tell him good because you feel the same way and wanted to make sure you were both on the same page.
