My 2 year old could not hear properly due to excessive ear infections until he was around 1 1/2 after he had tubes put into his ears. SInce then he has picked up a few words here and there, but is WELL behind other kids his age. We have worked with trying to get him to talk, but he babbles mainly. He can hear now just fine, and understands commands, we just cant seem to bring his vocabulary up. We read to him, point out things, like " that is a fast red car" versus "car". What can I do to speed up the process? The teachers have pointed out he needs speech therapy, but i want to know what can I do at home to help?

I asked, “Why are we building a freedom tower”, in a previous question. One woman replied: There are 1000’s of buildings that "they" could knock over. Maybe we should stop building buildings. Terrorists make car bombs. Maybe we should stop driving cars. She was suggesting that I thought we should hide. I wasn't.

Let’s try this again. The Twin Towers were probably chosen because they were the “most recognizable” feature in the “most popular” U.S. city. They were huge and probably easily hit by an airplane. I would have chosen them. Why hit a townhouse, when you can ruin an icon…More is well…more, you know?

Building the freedom tower seems like “provoking” to me. It seems like unnecessary arrogance. We are creating, yet another, huge target. The Freedom Tower is supposed to be even larger. A beacon screaming, “Come hit me…”

We wonder why certain groups hate us. Part of it is jealousy, ignorance, and prejudice. Part of it, is because we ask for it. Am I wrong?

I bought a second hand piece of memory DDR2 1GB 240pin DIMM PC2-4200, non-ECC which matches the requirements of my PC. Yet it does not work. The question is despite all these stats matching can the memory still be incompatible or is the memory broken?[ For info its Hypertec PV557AA-HY memory I'm trying to get into a Dell Dimension 8400.] Thanks in advance.

moms, I'm a mom myself and I bought this thing to iron onto my two girls shirts. I did it according to the instruction and when I peeled it off, only part of it sticked to the shirt and the other half didn't. I wanted to try it a gain, my question is how do I get the part that sticked to the shirt to come off. It's really hard to take off, I don't know what to do.

I was given two kittens a couple weeks ago, and they were going to be mousers for a barn.

One of them went missing, and the other was up in a tree hiding very far away from the barn. They never stray far at all from the barn. they are about 8 weeks old. It dissapeared between 12 midnight and 4am.

There has been a hawk flying around, which I suspect may have taken him.

Should I shoot the hawk? I don't like killing things, but in order to protect other animals, I will.

A: 'Lads Mags'' such as FHM,Nuts,Maxim,Loaded,ZOO,they all print semi nudity[just breasts,no gentials]
B:Playboy[full nudity,but softcore]

my argument is that a is worse,as these magaines just objectife women ,while playboy [most of the time] glorises them.

This question gets asked every day, several times a day. When will people learn?

You should all just shave your heads and stop worrying about your stupid hair. Maybe if there's nothing ON your head you can be more concerned about putting something IN your head!

This means girls, too!

If you have not heard of the SQ3R method of reading, it is used for reading textbooks.

The S stands for Survey- you are supposed to think about the title of a chapter and guess what will be included in it. You are to read the introduction, the main headings, the summary, and the questions at the end of the chapter.

The Q stands for question. Here you rephrase (and write) each heading and subheading as a question.

The first R is for read, which you are to do selectively, moving quickly and ignoring content that does not relate to your question.

The second R is for recite, in which you answer the question in your own words. You write the answer using only key words and important parts. You do this for each section in the chapter.

The last R is for reveiw. Here is where you go over and over the information you have taken notes on.

Certainly SQ3R has it's benefits. My question is, what are the flaws and shortcomings in using this method?
