My unborn baby's father has a drug and drinking problem. I am wondering at the time of birth or soon after can we insist that he has a drug screen and if it comes up positive can we insist that he completes a drug rehab class before he is allowed to have the baby?

This is for Chicago Teachers, in particular.
Some principals, in an effort to prevent teacher absences AND tardies, want to dock a teacher's paycheck. Now, I can see if a person is absent a lot, for this affects the student's that it is their job to teach, but tardies? I only could see tardies, if the person consistantly arrives AFTER the students have arrived, because that WOULD possibly affect the students. But teacher start time is 8:30, however, 8:30 is a prep. If a monetary value is placed on a prep, wouldn't that apply to ALL teacher preps, and the teacher's now should be compensated if they miss getting one? Is this a union issue, board issue, or both? Isn't this a change in the agreement, and a waiver must be submitted and signed by the union and the board?
I'd really like to know what to tell the LSC.

My b/f (fiancee), promised me he would call me every third day if he did'nt get a chance to do it sooner, but he has'nt called me now for like a week, and i can't call him anymore cause i already ran up my bill to much calling him. He lives in europe right now and he knows its cheaper for him to call me than it is for me to call him. I just want to know if this is normal for a fiancee to not call his future wife that often. We've been together for over two years, but still i think he should call me more often than he does. Could he possiably be cheating on me? In the past i had to remind him to call me by calling him, but now that i can't call him, he does'nt call me. what should i do? He also said that he never breaks a promise no matter what. either he's dead in a street somewhere or more likely he just does'nt care to take the time to call me for some reason. a reason i don't know or understand. he does'nt show any other signs of cheating on me, and its not in his character,i think.

I like this guy. ok i dont like him, i LOVE him, but i'm really not sure if he likes me or not. he's really immature, so he teases me and makes fun of me. for example i was wearing uggs one day and all day long he was making fun of me by calling me a "sheep killer" *rolls eyes* cuz uggs are made of sheepskin. he also takes my pens and pencils and never gives them back to me. (he keeps them in his locker.

another time was when i was going to a class that i have with him, he arrived at the classroom earlier than me so when i tried to open the door to the the classroom, he was pulling from the inside of the room so i couldnt open it. he didnt open it until some tall, strong guy threatened him.

i think he likes me, but i want to make sure before i ask him out. thanks.

I m in love with my P.T teacher. I dont know what drags me 2wards him. He also seems interested in me. I have not confessed it to him till now. I spoke to my best frnd about this. She told that it is just a crush. But I know how much serious I am regarding him. Should I propose to him or should I wait for his step? He looks at me, tries to talk with me and walks past me. I am deeply in love with him. I feel a bit embrassed to speak about this to anybody as he is our teacher. He is young and unmarried. I am 16 yrs old and he is 23. Plz help me out dear people.........

I hate my wide receivers. Have to start three of these four guys tomorrow: Hines Ward (playing San Diego and has been miserable so far this year), Laveranues Coles (he's been my most solid WR), Mike Furrey (playing Minnesota and had two TDs last week), or Marcus Robinson (playing Detroit and had one TD last week). Help!

She has a few favorite cloth diapers she calls her hankies and she only does this in the car or when she watches tv or goes to sleep. We cut the corners off on most of them to keep her nose safe and to be more sanitary, but she still sucks her fingers and then shell stick her finger in her nose. Once she is asleep it all comes out and the dentist says it hasnt affectied her teeth yet and wont because it doesnt stay in while she is sleeping. I dont let her take it to preschool or in to stores, but she wont suck her fingers unless she has a hanky. Will she outgrow this or how can I get her off it. My husband sucked his fingers when he was little too, I dont know if that matters...

a woman was in hospital, going through the final stages of labor. as she was experiencing quite a bit of pain, their doctor asked the husband if he'd like to participate in the birthing process and take some of the pain away from his wife. the husband agreed, so the doctor got out a strange machine with a red lever. he set the lever to 10 percent, telling the husband that even 10 percent was probably more pain than he'd ever experienced. but the man didn’t feel a thing. being the egotistical guy that he was, he was sure that he could handle as much pain as his wife so he insisted that the doctor crank the lever up to 100 percent. after it was over, the man stood up, stretched a little. both he and his wife felt great. later, when they took the baby home, they found the milkman dead on their doorstep

For starters, I do not have a degree in english, nor in anything yet. I am 30 years old and an atheist. I am writing a book that, if all goes according to plan, will demonstrate what it is like to be an atheist in todays society as well as comparing and contrasting being religious and not religious.

My problem is, I have no idea where or how I can get this published, if at all, once it is completed.

Has anyone here had a book published? How hard is it to find an agent to turn your script in to the publishers for you?

My wife wrote an excellent childrens book and tried for 3 years to get it published, always hearing back that "We do not accept unsolicited manuscripts" from the big publishing houses. No agents were willing to take on her case without charging an insane fee up front.

We have looked in the literary guide for both agents and publishing houses.

I do not want to fall into this same situation, any advice ahead of time would be well taken.

Thank you.

When you have no powdered donuts in your pantry, and you have a hankerin' for something sweet, do you ever just eat plain ol' granulated sugar by the spoonful, without the medicine? After all, if a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, don't you think the medicine simply is overkill?
