Was wondering if anyone who has a HP computer of any kind is actually happy with it?

I've been a computer tech for years and have heard people complain about them... and found unbelievable parts such as old PC100 RAM in newer systems brought for upgrades. I recently received a free, brand new in the package, HP motherboard from someone who thought they would build a system, then decided to just buy a new, complete system.

I built the P4 motherboard into a system to watch movies on and can't believe it won't play backed up movies or DVDs on a 50x CDROM or DVD/CDRW drive even with 512RAM, and a 128MB Radeon AGP4/8 9500Pro card without 'skipping' or pausing... even an old Gateway PII with just a PCI Pny GF4 64MB card will play movies. DMA, ASPI, everything checks out and even did a complete reinstall to make sure there wasn't an install error that wasn't showing up. Anyone happy with their HP? At all?

I am seated at point a. A mirror is in front of me at point b. Two objects behind me, one 5 ft behind me, point c. Another 10 ft behind me, point d. My eyes must change focus to clearly observe the two objects in the mirror exactly as they would if I turned and looked directly at the objects. ... Reckon why that is. Seems like to me a mirrors image, (two dimensional) would be the same as looking at a picture of the images reflected thereupon. ??
