The planet rotates to the East and orbits to the West, so technically we are heading in both directions.

Both, the east is becoming more westernized, look at Japan, China and India. On the other hand eastern beliefs are starting to take a stronger hold on the west. For example martial arts, Chinese medicine and yoga.
It would be nice to think this will lead to a more peaceful world, but I suspect it won't.

Those in the east are moving west, (Japanese setting up factories in UK and Europe . ) those in the west are moving east. ( I mean US and European businesses setting up in China, Korea, etc)
