Thanks everyone for your helpful replies. As regards measuring my wifes face to get approximate size of North American Moose - I have just tried and it's nowhere near 5ft - a fraction over 3ft. Obviously, this is chin to hair line rather than nose to ears?

I don't know off the top of my head, but i'll check through my school maths textbooks

David M, I'm sure my Maths books will help - after all the question is in the Mathematics section of Yahoo Answers
Americans may call Mathematics Math (but then they don't really speak English), here we call it Maths.

Hmm... I'm not very sure but the average length of a moose is 7.87 to 10.5 ft. Maybe you can estimate by using proportion?

Maybe the length from the nose to its ears to the length of its body is 1:30.
You may want to try something like that.

I hope this helps (:

I'm not sure about a North American Moose, but the Moose I recently divorced had more neck than your average giraffe!

Hello Chief,

That is an excellent question.

dumberthangeorgebush's - as your name suggests your not the brightest spark. I don't think looking in your math book will help !!!

I believe according to the Guiness book of records the largest moose head recorded nose to ears is 5 feet 2.753 inches

I hope that helps

dumberthangeorgebush's - Thanks for pointing out what section I'm in I mean it only shows you at the top of the page. However I still don't think your find the answer in your math book !!!!

Ps its Math not Maths

Doesn't it depend how old the moose is?
