I'm in the market for a flat frying, pan -- a "griddle."

Recently I've been seeing these "cast-iron skillets" for sale. They're as heavy as a bowling ball, and slate gray.

I'm wondering what the advantages of cooking on one of these is. Why are they so expensive?

Are they just fashion statements? Do they heat up quicker? Retain heat longer? Does food come off easier, etc.

Why would I NOT buy your normal stick-free Teflon? Appearance's sake only?

Im wondering why some people think that Islam doesn't respect other relginions? Im a muslim and i have christian, jew and hindu friends we all respect each other. Really Islam kept and still keeping the rights of non-muslims who live in muslims land. It considers to be a sin for me or any muslim if hurt by words or by actions any other person just becuase his/her religion is different!!! Even if we have different colors, languages, religions or nationalities we still have one thing in common which is coming from one dad (Adam) and one mom (Eve)... That's what my religion taught me and that's what i believe in^_^. Allah blesses you:).

can uo answer the following questions before forcing anybody to sing it ?
1.Is there any national song in the world which does not have the name of the nation like
vande matram ?
2.How many of you who want it to be sung by everybody, can sing it without any help ?
3.How many of the persons who can sing it, can tell the meaning of the song ?
4.When only few hundred out of the total population in India can sing it with meaning then
who are you to force the others to sing it ?
5.Whether the song was written for a novel or for the nation ? Whether the motive of the
auther was to glorify his nation or novel ?
6.Who the auther was seving when he wrote the song ?
7.Are the clerics on the higher level not required to just clarify that vande matram does not mean doing PUJA of the motherland but it simply means to glorify and to give respect to your motherland ?
Even after this if the muslims dont sing they are liable to be punished

I met this girl last week. She is gorgeous. We made good friends on the first day we met at a class, we had coffee at the brake, had lunch that same day, and she invited me to go out to a place she told me is cool on Thursday. We went out. We had fun, a great time, we danced and on advised I did not act like a wuss, I did not tell her " ilike you" or "You are gorgeous"...not at all, we had fun but I acted as if we were just having fun, but always sexy and close towards her, touching her but subtlely. We went out again on Friday, and had fun with another couple firnds at a place . Again I did not tell anything that would make me a wuss or burn me right away. My question to girls, am I doing the right thing? I think she does like me, and I like her, but I do not want to burn myself. In the past, I burnt myself because I would jump at a woman on a first date, say corny things...will I wake up interest? or am I doing the wrong thing? What would you think were you the girl?

Can somebody give me some insight on the workings of inflation between two countries whose currencies are traded at a fixed rate?

If there are two countries whose exchange rates are officially locked (e.g., the U.S. dollar and the Saudi Arabia riyal), does inflation in one country automatically occur in the second country at the same exact rate?

Taking the SAR example, everybody knows that inflation in the U.S. has been about 2-3% per year for the last few years. But occasionally I read that inflation in Saudi Arabia is "essentially zero," even though that country's currency has been locked to the dollar at 1USD=3.75 SAR since 1986.

My best answer would be that it would have to do with what's causing the inflation. For instance, if you have some supply-side inflation with the price of oil going up, this would induce inflation in the US, but not necessarily in Saudi.

But there's a limit to this independence, I think. I suspect for the most part the currencies are locked?
