Gentleman, it is not a question, whether muslim brethren will sing or not. Should I remind you that this song has inspired freedom fighters to collectively fight for the motherland. How can you so easily forget their sacrifices. You are living in a free country because of them.
The concept of treating one's country as motherland (Matrubhumi) is unique to India only ( respect the country as you respect your mother). What is wrong in it. Will it be fair to consider our country to be Matrabhumi(only land-lifeless,an inanimate object). The song does not compell any one to leave his /her faith but only glorifies the nation, developing selfrespect for the nation. It is only if you feel great , you can do great deeds. Do you mean to say that some people should be allowed not to respect the nation.
The object of writing a book is not entertainment only, but to provide an insight of the society . Every story has a moral. Love ur nation is what Bankim Da has told through his song and book.

vande mataram has meanings which glorifies the motherland.if u study the meanings of its each and every word then it has meanings like "i offer my soul to u my mother land and i offer myself at ur feet.
according to its meanings it gives utmost importance to the land more than GOD.according to islamic beliefs, muslims believe that there is nothing more great than the almighty god,,,who has created this wonderful world for us.so we should surrender ourself to god rather than the land in which we live..
and mind u no one can force anybody to sing vande mataram, coz its not a national anthem..

It can be sung by every one without being made conditional to make it compulsory. Why infringe on some one's right and decide for him? After all we live in a civilized society and not in a country ruled by the power of sword
