Tell that to the good citizens of Saudi Arabia, my friend. There are two cities there where non-Muslims are not allowed to set foot. It really would be nice if more Muslims were like you. It's the ones who are constantly preaching about Islam and trying to refute other religions that give Muslims a bad name.
Peace!

The reason that people don't think Islam respects other religions is because they relate Islam with Muslim extremists. People hear about the exceptions, eg. women being beaten for showing their legs. People see what the media tells them. The media shows what sells. Media doesn't give Islam a fair shot. Maybe it's the media that's corrupt.
JFYI: The Muslim religion was formed soon after christian missionaries visited Islam, there is substantial documented proof to back this up.

You're very sweet and good and kind. The fact is, no matter where someone comes from or what religion they believe in, it does not matter how they choose to be or act.
I know many people who call themselves Christian's who do not act or believe like Christian's should.
That does not mean that all Christian's are like this.
Same thing with certain religions, races, etc. Sometimes a majority rules, like if the majority of these types of people are like this then we can assume it's because of where they come from or what they believe, but we also have to take into consideration that there may be some among those that are different.

while i have friends from many circles, i do have to ask how the current interpetation of islam can be considered peaceful if it gives only three choices to non-islamists:
1) accept islam and convert and be an equal
2) accept islam and do not convert and remain a second-class citizen
3) reject islam and be eligible for the death penalty.
these three things along with the radical element of the islamic nations (bin laden, etc) who perform evil deeds even upon the men, women and children of their own nations.
and lest you think that i am just bashing islam, i know that my own christian belief is rife with those who perverted the Word of God for their own purpose and personal gain.

people are very narrow minded, and can't get any further than what they see and hear on tv,etc..bad publicity seems to stay in peoples minds. Most people seem to be forgetting that God created all mankind equal, society changes that with stereotypes.if people would stop thinking so much and start feeling more,i think it would help.i am a christian and have many friends of different cultures and beliefs also. I try to love instead of hate.that's what my religion teaches.too bad so many forget that
God loves us all
