My local friends and some family who used to be very supportive avoid me because I take care of my appearance by looking well and living life to the fullest even though I have had 2 lung surgeries and brain radiation this year. I travelled to europe by myself on holiday. They dont feel I am too sick. However I am stage 4 and have a recurrence in my brain. I just want a support group I can count on. Most of my friends I speak with on a dad to day are other cancer patients or friends from out of tow. Why have my close friends turned on me?

okay so here is the deal:
my grandma just got here from venezuela and she doesnt speak any english, i lived in mexcio most of my life but i have been living in the united states for abou three years now and havent really practiced my spanish lately, so i hesitate everytime i want to say something to my grandma. What can i do without totally avoiding talking to her or telling her that i havent been practicing my spanish lately [they would both hurt her]
help!!!

I'm 24 years old, 5'1, weigh 155. I'm hoping to drop about 20 lbs by Christmas, then another ten the following months. This is what I eat on a typical day:
Breakfast
1 cup fiber cereal by Kashi
1/2 cup of 2% milk
snack is a slice of cheddar cheese with crackers, or apple slices with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. Sometimes I'll have plain yogurt or cottage cheese with fruit.

Lunch is salad with spinach, tomatoes, chicken, carrots, cucumbers, kidney beans and olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing.

Snack is the rest of my salad that I didn't finish at lunch.

Dinner is usually 1 cup rice or pasta with 1/2 breast chicken and a small spinach salad. Then I'll have fruit or a 1/2 frozen low fat yogurt

Sometimes I give in and have a small bag of chips or a candy bar for a snack. This is about twice a week.

I'm going to start walking briskly for an hour a day starting tomorrow.

What do you think? Am I missing something?

God is, well, God, I dont know everything but I would think he/she would. God knows how everything is going to turn out...so back to the beginning, why go through the whole choice thing when he could just fix it so that we do everything as he supposedly wanted in the Bible.

I can't believe I'm considering my next degree, I feel like I've been in school forever. I am a fairly new nurse, my interest is maternal child health, ob/gyn surgeries, babies, possibly NICU, L&D. I picture myself helping women and children, would love to work in a clinic setting also, really enjoy teenagers, std clinics, planned parenthood, WIC, that sort of thing.

I had considered the CNM (Nurse Midwife) but lately was pondering just the Masters in Nursing (MSN) or even Masters in Public Health (MPH). Given what I've said about my interests, does anyone in the medical field have any recommendations for me? Not sure which way to go, or which degree goes the farthest.?

Could it happen? They are considered "undead" yet they are alive! They have the life-giving force within them....blood, just like everyone else! With that in mind, would they act the same or different from normal people. Use any version of a vampire you want in determing your answer. I say they can get high. They can even smoke regular cigarettes, but would they get lung cancer?

We need to bring real metal back to the masses again, What's with all of these new "metalcore" and "screamo" scenes taking over the television? No offense to anyone but I mean, I respect all of the MTV play finally for heavier music, but why don't they play the real music more often, and not like 1 video out of the 20 screamo ones?... I think its time to send a letter to MTV2 about this problem...opinions?

Yeah truthfully I'm an extreme old school metalhead, but I am sure that there are many other people who want to bring back the same stuff I do.
