A lady hit me this morning very light damage down the side of my car....do I call the insurance company? Ok, basically I have naturally medium brown hair, with lighter golden brown/blond highlights which I've had done twice, and am now growing out, as they aren't TOO noticable apart from in bright sunlight. I was wondering if I can use one of those rinse/temporary hair dyes on it (the type which last around 8 washes), in a colour close to my natural shade...

On all of the packets it seems to say "do not use on bleached/highlighted hair", would it really mess my hair up that much? Especially as I only want to go a few shades darker than I am already. My hair's in pretty good condition, but I'm growing the highlights and they sort of start an inch or so down my hair now, I don't want them to turn some dodgy color, or frazzle my hair. Ayudame por favor!

Broadband Internet?

For now im using dial up connection with my PC and with a modem istalled but how about BROADBAND internet? Is modem still be used for broadband internet or what? pls help. thnx in advance. ;)

J (my BF and BFF) cheated on me. This is what happened. Five days ago my brother (J's employer) can to our house (which we own together) and said he knew J was abusive. I said he was not and he is not. But my bro wouldn't listen. Then he said he wanted me to stay the night with his kids I said okay. He was rushing me to get my stuff and said we'd buy new stuff which really confused me. When I got to his home he was talking very badly about J and I thought it was because my bro was drunk. I called for someone to get me. Ended up that my bro confessed that some woman called him and said J was cheating and that he was abusive and held a gun to her head then she thretened to tell. I wouldn't believe him so he called his source. It was S a woman J worked with for a few years. She was 50 and lonely and J became close to her taking her to the hosp. and all kinds of stuff. Any she said he cheat with some girl at work. I had J come to my bro's house. He confessed (contenued on next thred)

I have 2 parents, (had) 4 grandparents, 8 great-grandparents, 16 great- great grand parents etc. If every generation lasts approx 40 years then 400 years ago about 2 to the power 10 (1,024) people were alive who were my ancestors. Follow me so far?

2000 years ago, is about 40 generations ago. So 2 to the power 40 people must have been alive who were my ancestors. That's about 1million, million people. (one billion in the US, 1000 million in the UK).

But there simply weren't that many people on the earth at that time. So was everyone alive 2000 years ago my ancestor?

This is known as Galileo's paradox. He started that every number is the square root of something (2 is of 4, 3 is of 9, etc.) but not all numbers are squares. So logically there has to be more numbers than there are squares, but if all numbers are the square root of another number, then there has to be the same number of squares as there are numbers. How is this possible?
