Большой овраг в северной части Киева, где в конце сентября 1941 происходили массовые казни десятков тысяч евреев. 19 сентября 1941 германские войска, разгромив в 45-дневных боях оборонявшие Киев советские части, вступили в город. Спустя несколько дней страшный взрыв превратил в руины гостиницу "Континенталь", в которой расположился штаб немецкого гарнизона, и близлежащие кварталы. Вспыхнувший следом гигантский пожар унес жизни многих немецких солдат. Германское военное командование решило, что за их гибель несет ответственность еврейское население Киева. В наказание за это евреи небольшими группами были отправлены в Бабий яр, располагавшийся тогда за чертой города. За два дня массовых казней там было убито около 35000 человек (по другим данным - от 50 до 70 тыс. человек). Их тела были погребены во рву 60 метров длиной и около 3 метров глубиной.
На Нюрнбергском процессе генерал-полковник Альфред Йодль опроверг предположение, что мины в городе устанавливало еврейское население Киева. Он продемонстрировал трофейную карту, на которой было обозначено расположение 50 минных полей, подготовленных советскими войсками перед их отступлением. Позднее специалисты заявили, что "эти данные раскрывают причастность русских к трагедии" в Бабьем яре, но главные свидетели остались погребенными под землей. В октябре 1966 в Бабьем яре на месте массовых расстрелов был установлен гранитный обелиск.

What do you feed your kids for lunch?

My daughter is super picky, so I'm running out of lunch ideas. We basically are limited to chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese, fish sticks, or sometimes chicken nuggets. I am usually always able to get some type of fruit in her as well like a banana or apple.

I want to switch up and try different lunches so she doesn't get stuck in such a rut eating the same things everyday.

Any suggestions on some simple lunches?

BTW -- she will not eat sandwiches or anything of the sort.

I come from a good family,im always welcoming, i look like barbie, i have tons of friends and im always a sweet person. People always peg me as a goody goody. BUT ive always had an obsession with vampires and goths. I go to real haunted houses by myself, i read vampire novels and movies, i love halloween, i love dark things and people. I find it erotic. People nowadays seem to praise diversity, but the word "diversity" is just another way of saying "divided". I can't stand all the multi-cultural crap in this country. Remembering and honoring your cultural heritage is important, but people take it way too far. Things like hyphenated Americanism only serve to drive a wedge between us. If we are all going to live together, we have to have more in common than simply where we live.

I'm a 19 year old female for the past two days I have had these sharp pains starting in my fingers and moving down to my legs mainly on my right side. However the pain does sometimes happen in my left leg. It's about four days before my period starts so does it have something to do with that or is it something else? I wanted to ask before going to the doctor because my insurance isn't the best insurance in the world and being in college and paying hospital bills is a lot.

I think both of these selling methods should be put to an end. First telemarketing as well as door to door is a huge invasion of your privacy. I personally become very angry when people come to my door to sell me something. Even if it was something I was about to get into the car and buy that very second I wouldn't buy it at my front door. Now telemarketers when someone calls you. You have no idea who this person really is and i'm not giving personal info. like credit card and address over the phone. Hello identiy stolen. Do people think its time to end this means of selling and harassing people in there homes?
