I am in a league of 10 people right now and i was wondering what is the best spot to be drafting. For instance, is being first the best or is somewhere in the middle good? Please Help...

This year the best spots to pick are either 1-3 or maybe 9, 10. Being in the middle, yeah, you don't wait as long between picks, but I've always found that it can be harder to judge what will be left. This year, 1-3 are the elite players(LJ, Shaun, LT). Getting on of them is such a big advantage. At 9 and 10, you can combine those two picks(in a standard snake draft) and, I feel, get a better opportunity to set the direction of the draft. Most people draft RB's early but at that 9 or 10 spot, you can set off a position run at WR, TE or QB.

It is better to be closer to the ends in the draft than in the middle, especially during a "snake" draft , where the selection winds back and forth through the team owners.

If you are either in the first two or last two spots, then you should fare better than those stuck closer to the middle (everyone gets the same number of picks, but turn around spots get the benefit of "quicker" picks - makes the draft flow a little easier).

Take a look at the leagues history, as to who has won and where they picked. One of my leagues the top 1-3 teams have picked either 1, 2, 9 or 10.
PS, This is a heavy RB league.

it varies from year to year, but this year you need to be in the top 3 - the drop off after that is nothing like I have ever seen before.

If you don't get in the top 3, trade down as low as you can (if the #10 guy wants to move up to #5, make the switch)

The difference between #3 and #4 will be greater than the differenece between #4 and #10 - by far. I'd much rather have #10 and #11 than #4 and #16.

second has been good for me... there are usually 2-4 top draft picks, and the person who picks first will usually go for #1 just because they can...even though it might not be the best for their "team".

You can get good advice about position and draft pick strategies from the fantasy football magazines.

somewhere in the middle is good. you may not get the best player in the leage but you woulnt be stuck with the #1 pick and the #19 pick. if you are in the middle or even the end you will get something like the #6 pick and the #14 pick. also the end has it advantage in the start because you get to pick twice in a row.

take a million or 10. in case you quite need pujols take a million. in any different case 10 is the main suitable on condition that way you will get possibilities 10 and 11. Im finding on the yahoo scores suitable now and after spot 12 the pool of gamers seems to bypass down so in case you're final you will get 2 very sturdy gamers.

Going first is the best because you can get the best player. And you should pick a runningback first because they have the best chance to make an impact. I would pick either Larry Johnson or Jamal Lewis because I think they are going to have a great season.

The best place to be is in the middle or in your case the 5th pick! Because if you have one of the first three picks you have to wait 0ver 15 picks later to your next pick. if your in the middle you have the same time to pick and most of the time the person who has the midle pick has the best team!

I prefer last position as you get two pretty decent back to back picks imo. Also don't mind the middle spots either. 1st isnt great cause you have to wait a while to get another pick.

Good luck and keep your eye on the RB's
