How do you stop it? Reading this blurb I dont think you can.

I don't know if the question was worded correctly or not. I was thinking about the Sun and it's gravitational pull on the Earth. Isn't the earth heavier now than it was 1000 years ago? We have added tons and tons of weight to it with all that has been constructed over the last 1000 years. Shouldn't the added weight have changed the suns ability to keep us within the same gravitational orbit?
If it doesn't change it then how come if I use my shopvac as an example of the suns gravitational pull I can only pick up objects of a certain weight within a certain area, but if I added a little more weight or took away a little weight to any of the objects it changes what gets sucked up and what gets left behind.

My friend and her ex-bf broke up like 2 months ago after dating for about 5 months, I think. They still have been in contact on a friend relationship. She said they broke up cause they had differences and they both didnt think it'll work out. Now he wants her back. She thinks it's for sex but him and I didnt think so. Ethanol, despite getting all the press, has a lot of problems. One, it's expensive (currently around 3.00/gal to produce). Secondly, there couldn't possibly be enough of it to make a large dent in the oil need (If all corn grown in the US was made into ethanol, it would only replace 12% of the crude we now use for gasoline.) And third, it has a lower return of energy than gas which means cars would have to burn even more of it (lower mpg).

What are your thoughts on alternative fuels?
