Nope, but I gotta say, smart kid but has a dumb stupid nosey parent. Mind your p's and q's. If you are asking because she forgot her password then reformat the hard drive only problem is all the data is lost.
If you have such a hard time keeping track of your kid and what they are too that you have to spy on them then you are a horrible parent who has no right to even have kids. If think that lowly of your kid why did you get her her own computer. By the way if your kid catches you say goodbye cause chances are she will rebel, move out as soon as she can, get pregnant, and never call you. If you leave her alone, set a good example and stop hanging out at the bar all the time and spend time with yout family she actually might turn into something respectable.
Besides more than likely its not your teen, you probably think your wife is cheatin on you and have to spy on her. Well maybe spend some time with her as well.

It depends - is it a BIOS password lock, or a Windows password lock? For windows, you could load the PC drive into another computer and access files. There are special password files on the computer that CAN be hacked with packages, if you don't know then I won't tell you.
Rember, this teen is a CHILD under your protection - you are responsible for what she sees and does on the internet. Instead of hacking in and breaking her trust, talk to her and set up an administrative account of your own on the PC. If she has nothing to hide she should let you check her computer willingly.
Did she accidentally lock it and no-one can get in to it, or did she lock it for privacy? If it's for privacy then open a discussion with her, if it's accidental, then there are ways around windows.
YOU should have an administrative account on it, her account should NOT have administrative rights. Don't use the administrator account for day-to-day activities, that's how you get spyware/adware on your machine. If she locks or forgets her password, you can change it as administrator, but she cannot change yours.

I am still on planet Earth, correct? Although I can not tell you how to get the password or change it, I can reassure you that, as a PARENT, you are completely correct in your concern for the health and safety of you child. The several replies chastising you about being "nosy" are clearly either from kids, bad parents or adults with no kids.

Would these people allow their kids to hang out at the local bar?? I mean, c'mon they promise they wont drink or get into trouble..........so that should be perfectly OK, right?

There is easily more mischief, sex, and 1000 other non-kid friendly aspects to the Internet than a local bar yet for some strange reason these people believe a child has some "right" to be left unchecked---ridiculous.

My advice, as a parent, is to ask them for the password and make no bones about the fact that you may check up on them on occasion. If yours is a good kid, whom you trust, chance are you may never take a look----but you should always be able to. If they don't like the rule, they don't need the access to the computer at all.

If it is a windows XP you can go into control panel, then to users, now to your teen's profile, no just click on remove password. thats all there is to it. I do it when ever I want to piss off my little siblings, I put on passwords and take off their's. Have a nice day! :)

Install a keylogger when she's in the shower one day, then the next time she gets on, she'll type in her password, then you can see what her password is after she leaves. Parents should know where their kids are surfing on the web, don't feel guilty about it. http://www.invisiblekeylogger.com/ This one might be a good one. Good luck, Ron

Details! XP? Win2000? Microsoft BOB? Do you have an account with administrator rights?

If it's XP or Win2000 and you don't have a privileged account, it's not easy. Try dwightl.geo's link.

Keyloggers? Only if you're desperate. Use a hardware device that plugs in in-line with the keyboard.

I can understand why she has it locked. Thank God my parents were never nosy. Give her some privacy. If you have doubts about what she is doing online then ask her. Sneaking into her computer will only make things worse.
