I am moving from San Diego to San Francisco to attend SFSU, and everyone keeps telling me to leave my car behind. If you have ever lived in San Diego you know that you NEED a car to survive. I am still making payments on my car and am wondering what to do... Also, I looked at Muni and Bart lines and typed in some destinations that came out to be 58 minutes long, and when I mapquested it, it would only take 15 minutes by car.... Does anyone have advice/suggestions?? Thanks in advance..

When arriving to SFO Int'l Airport, I need to find the best way to get to my hotel (in downtown)
Taking such a ride by cab should be very expensive, isn't it?
So I'm looking for a ground transportation service, e.g. a shared van.
I read on sftravel.com that there are many operators that provide shared shuttle trips to the hotels, for about $15 per person.

Some of them allow to reserve and pre-pay the trip, is it worth to do it or is it faster to get outside the airport and just wait for the first van to come? (assuming to arrive in San Francisco at 19:30 pm or so)

I plan on moving out there some time between June and September from Chicago. I am looking for relatively cheap (less than $600 per person), dog-friendly housing with parking near by. What are some neighborhoods to check out? Is this possible?

i've heard that there's a clocktower that has an awesome lookout point, or somewhere near the water you can see a good shot of the bridge.
