Looking for city in CA that you can find diamonds in a river bed?

I have been there years ago but don't remember the city. This is in gold country in California.

The ONLY diamonds in the US are in Arkansas.

I just checked further and there is a book called Hunting for Diamonds in California, Mary Hill. Many libraries have it and you can find it used on a number of sites.

Arkansas is the only state in which diamonds have been found to occur naturally.
