I see you got a few answers here, but as a Bay Area resident I wanted to confirm that it's Marin County. Across the Bay Bridge, the other one that comes out of San Francisco, is Alameda County, where Oakland is.

There is still confusion, even from area residents! The golden gate bridge leads to Marin county. The bay bridge leads to Alameda county. Contra Costa county is farther inland than Alameda County.

Marin County, home to one of the highest per-capita income averages in the united states. The hippies became venture-capitalists and moved to Marin.
Its f*cking gorgeous though. Marin Headlands has the best view of the city.
