So, sometime next fall my boyfriend, best friend, her bf, and I are driving out to San Diego for probably a week or two (depending on if we stay with relatives of mine or at a hotel). I've been twice before to visit an my aunt and uncle, and though it's been a few years, I tell them constantly how much I love it there. So, they agreed to go with me.

I've been to Coronado, and my aunt and uncle live a short walk from La Jolla and Seal Beach and such, so we'll definatly be going there. I liked the Wild Animal Park too.

I'm just curious about places like Disney Land and Universal. I've been to Disney World in FL, but I don't know what the difference is. Also, some other places that would be fun to check out. And would Universal and DL be worth the money for the tickets? I mean, we're all in college, paying for ourselves, so we're trying to spend as wisely as possible.

One last thing...any good hotels near there? Just in case.

Thanks!

I would also like to know the best attractions and the best/coolest restaurants to eat at. Also, any other points of interests...besides the obvious like Sea World and the Zoo. Thank you in advance! Oh...There will be no kids going on this trip, but we are interested in the Zoo and Sea World and stuff like that. I want to know everything!!!

I am a 24 yr old male who is planning to move to San Diego within the next 2 - 4 months. I've heard many great things about the weather and the beaches, but what about the people? I'm a very social guy and I definitely want to build a new group of friends out in SD when I move there. I've heard murmers that meeting people is easy, but make friends is very difficult. What are your thoughts on that? What areas do people around my age live in? I'm looking for a nice beach, with young people around, and a good bar scene. Wherever that is - I want to live there! hahaha

Let me know what you think about the people in San Diego and what the best way to make new friends would be. How can I easily break into the social scene as an outsider from the Easy Coast? (Originally from North Jersey).

I appreciate your responses.

We do not want to go to Palm Springs, Big Bear, Julian or Las Vegas. I want to surprise my husband with a weekend trip that isn't expensive that is a pretty little town or something romantic within about four hours from San Diego in a car. Any suggestions on where and accommodations? Please describe in detail. I'd love your advice!

If you could pick anywhere to live between Los Angeles and San Diego, where would it be? We are looking for the Southern California wonderful weather (living in NYC now & so over the cold, depressing winters). Neither one of us is in the entertainment industry.. We will have to rent (or buy a condo, cannot afford a home) & hate a long, congested commute. We don't mind living in the burbs, but want it to be a well established community with plenty of restaurants and parks to explore, great jogging paths would be a fabulous bonus. We are weekend warriors and can't wait to take weekend trips, to the mountains, vineyards, the desert, etc. We are in our "early 30's" and no children yet. We've been exploring online for awhile now & don't feel any closer as to where to narrow down our top 5, San Clemente looks pretty, any dish on this area?
