San Diego for visitors is expensive to live and visit. But, not as expensive as New York City. Nice weather and various types of cusines to try. I would not suggest visiting TJ for now. Military are the ruling force there and not so easy for americans...for now. Especially, if you are under 30. Beaches are beautiful and all of the homes near there are expensive. Tollery service and bus service slow, in my opinion. Nice shopping and movies are great previews, Seaworld, zoo and parks are nice. Mexican food, excellent if you visit the smaller places. Motel are 55 dollars and that is cheap. Motel 6 prices in Mission Valley. You might try bed and breakfast. YOU will get a meal and rest in nice places.

SD used to be extremely safe, but just like everywhere else in California, some parts are getting jenky.

Save a little more and pay for a nicer hotel. SD is still a nice place, but the cheaper motels are in the shady areas. Don't risk your life for a few $$.

p.s.
DON'T listen to that creep "Don Pilar" and get picked up and stay in some stranger's room. I don't want to see you on Cold Case File......

The only thing about San Diego is that their football team lost!!!
Try using one of the travel web sites that has motel and hotel searches.

Try the various web sites.

San Diego is called "America's finest city." It's beautiful and people are great, except for the illegal aliens.

Don't forget to take a side trip to Disneyland!

BTW, even though the Chargers lost, they are still the best - go Chargers!

The cheapest one is: once you get there try to find the better nightclub, dress nice and find a friend that invite you to stay in his or her room. Good luck!!! have a nice one !!!

there's probably enough info at this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Diego to keep you reading for the entire flight (especially if you follow all the additional links)
