No I don't. It used to be about 50 yrs ago when I was growing up. It was idealic haven. Now it is just a place to visit that is beautiful & fun. You could not pay me enough to keep a home in San Diego for all the people that have moved there.
The traffic, crime, crowdiness, and overall ugliness makes it a mini Los Angeles.
In the 70s we had bumper stickers that said Welcome to SD, when you leave take someone home with U. They didnt work lol
There are other beautiful and fun places in CA that make better places to live.

Yes, San Diego is has amazing scenery and is a very fun place to live. I came here for college six years ago from the SF Bay Area and decided to stay here after graduation b/c I loved it so much. There is great nightlife, especially downtown and in Pacific Beach. The people are great b/c everyone is from somewhere else so people are just down to have fun. There's a great vibe b/c everyone here loves it and there is always something to do year round and the weather is the best in North America. The cost of living is high but it's still cheaper than the cold, frigid Bay Area or LA/OC; it's definately worth the price.

its great to live here, but expensive. Currently the 3rd most expensive as far as cost of living, San francisco being highest, Los Angeles being 2nd, San Diego is 3rd followed by New York. But San Diego is among the top CLEANEST cities according to an article from readers digest. Traffic isn't too horrible, the weather is pretty decent all year long, and if you really want snow, you can drive a few hours to big bear, you can go surfing in the morning and snow boarding in the afternoon. great restraunts, good jobs, museums, The World famous Zoo, cool people. e mail me for any specifics,

on the excellent, the main secure neighborhoods in San Diego are north of the 8. There are some south of 50 4 and east of 805 even however. although, no interior sight is crime-evidence by way of fact the as much as this factor Chelsea King tale proved. there are a number of group colleges in San Diego so being interior driving distance of a million isn't a subject different than you reside up interior the mountains or interior the desert. As for properties, I have no thought what the rents are. you are able to could to locate an agent or initiate finding out the condominium web content.

Of course it is. This city is absolubley gorgeous. I totally disagree with the poster above me. Santa Barbara is covered if fog half the year, and the only activities are for middle aged yuppies who wear kackis and loafers.
This city is extremely expensive. Someone above mentioned you could buy a house for $200K. I wish. I just bought a 3 bed/1 bath condo in La Jolla for $400K.
It just depends on your values. The vibe in this city is very laid back and positive, and I think it has a lot to do with the weather and the scenery. We have the best weather in the country. It was about 70 and sunny today. The air is always clean. The city is all rolling hills, canyons, mountains and valleys. The scenery is breathtaking.
It's a very active city. It's very common to see joggers and bikers everywhere. People are active and it's a very outdoors kind of town.
And there's always a lot to do. We have the best beach towns. Our downtown area rocks, and if you like snow, you can just drive to the mountains. Where else can you surfboard and snowboard in the same day?
I guess ya, it's a beautiful an fun place to live.

San Diego is a wonderful place to visit - but I don't think I would like to live there. With the Navel base being so close, I don't think I'd be able to get much done. Have you seen the good looking men in their whites???!!! Awesome! Last time I was there was during a friends graduation - my friend looked very much like Richard Gere (An Officer and A Gentleman) while he rode me on his motorcycle. The only difference is I came down from Los Angeles. It is very expensive to live anywhere decent in California - but if you like the balmy weather, the beaches and the overflowing cities, the great restaurants (sea food), hey - go for it!

Beautiful, fun, and friendly describe the good points about San Diego. The weather is also perfect, but with these good points come the high cost of living that makes it difficult to live there. You had to buy into the real estate market before things went bonkers...now, there is no way to break into the California housing market.

Yes San Diego would be a great place to live, california is really nice, but you better be willing to pay out lots of money.A plain little small house there would probably cost you 200,000 dollars...My brother in law was living there with his wife and they recently moved back to Texas, because it was so expensive to live there...The pay for workers is better there but it cost alot to live..If this is ok with you then i say go for it...Just consider yourself warned about the cost of living.

nah not me i think Santa Barbara is better because there's more less gangs and i think its a mid size city and plus its next to the beach, also if u like to see people in a bikini or shorts i think its the right place. i have a friend over there he have a cali lingo and a ultimate frezbee player.
i think the 75 or 65% are Caucasian in Santa Barbara.

If you have enough money it is. But then again, if you have enough money, just about any major metropolitan city would be fun to live. San Francisco is marvelous.
