Torrey Pines has some nice hikes with coastal views. Early in the spring, Cedar Falls is a great place for a hike...but take plenty of water with you. Early spring is also a good time to head east to hike the desert and see the spring flowers.

Torry Pines park is lovely, as someone also mentioned.

I also like Coronado Island, where you can walk through the neighborhoods and see a "different" kind of vew.

Also, spend some time at the zoo and the rest of Balboa Park.

There's actually one place nearby where you can go. Try Torrey Pines State Beach. They offer some moderate trails that overlook the ocean.
