My husband and I are considering moving there and would like info from people who live there or have been there. What is the weather really like? Job market? Are people friendly? Cost of living? Best neighborhoods? Is it safe? Pros and cons? Thanks.

Iight today I waz in Ink-Town visitin a church there..so of course we waz hangin wit ppl frum Inkster..this fight broke out because of the stupidest but hurtful thing...a guy frum inkster told one of my friends( we're from Detroit) that because she was from Detroit she was stupid and she was all talk.....is that what all ppl frum Inkster think of us....Stupid ppl with a mouth? Cuz Inkster aint that better tha Detroit( just to let u kno)

I am going to be working in the Renaissance Center. I have spent time in Troy and Rochester and I like those communities but I am worried about the commute. I would love Bermingham but the cost and the commute would be a concern.

It is only my wife and myself as our children are grown. My wife likes to run early morning so safety is a concern. My ideal location would be a nice, quiet, affordable community with an easy commute to downtown and decent shopping and restaurant selection.

We are also wanting to downsize our home but we still want features like high ceilings, art niches, etc. in the home. Moving to a high rise would probably challenge our comfort zone.

If you know of a web site that compares the various neighborhoods I would love to see that URL.

All suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance for your answers.

I live in Ohio (Toledo area) and I want to take my family with me--(6 adults flying/I'm included) We have to pay the flight--and we have 2 kids in college, so it needs to be affordable! This is for all of the detroiters out there: I'm in my late teens and am starting 2 think about where I want to live the rest of my life. I currently reside in Nebraska and am considering detroit (i've been swayed in its direction because i make rap music and some of the greats have come from detroit - i also like the city scene)
