We want to stay in Cornwall with our small dog and two children but don't want to pay more than it would cost us to stay at home for a month! £580/£590 is just far too much and leaves no money to spend on treats. Someone must know somewhere cheap - we don't need fancy, just reasonable, clean and space for everybody.

I'm coming over to London and the south of England for a few days between Christmas and New Year. Any suggestions about places to go and things to do? London, OK, lots to do, but not sure about other places in the south - bearing in mind the weather is likely to be less than friendly.

If I'm walking down the street in Scotland on a regular day, not a festival or anything like that, and I'm wearing a kilt, would I get strange looks as I would if I did the same thing in the US? Are kilts accepted as regular attire for men in Scotland?
