Until the disgraceful 1974 County Boundries Act, which took away a lot of our identity, the above was the correct title for Newcastle. Can someone name me the other British cities that had similar titles? I know that Hull was one, but I don't know it's correct title. Liverpool, big city though it is, had no such title. I believe there were 12 cities altogether with a City and County title.

I've started my own website for parents in the north east to advise on travel and days out in the local area. Is there any travel sites I could use to gain contacts. Or is there anyone out there who feels like having a go?

(Stupid question, I know.)

I've never been on a train before and don't really understand the procedure. Where do I go when I get to the station? Where do I pay for my ticket? How do I know where to get off? Etc, etc. If anybody could outline the steps I need to make in order to use a train I'd be very appreciative. Thanks :-)
