Simonc12345 is talking out his **** (probably a sad Southern bastard). The "Toon" is a vibrant city with a populace who always know how to have a good time, and a football team who enjoy truly loyal support win or lose. Newcastle has moved with the times, but still retains a lot of it's heritage. Even though Newcastle Brown Ale is now brewed by the Federation (now Newcastle Federation) brewery in Gateshead, it's still in my opinion the "national brew" of Geordieland.

I have lived in the South of England for over twenty years, but whenever I come to Newcastle, I feel I'm truly home. After all, it's always better where the Geordies are.

You can take the man out of Northumbria, but you can't take Northumbria out of the man.

Ive traveled pretty much the entire country, every hamlet, backwater and city and Newcastle is by far the best. Friendliest people who do not suffer fools (thats why the southerners dont like us), best city, fantastic social scene. We are surrounded by Northumberland, Cumbria and Durham, the 3 most beautiful counties in England not to mention the most beautiful and unspoilt coastline in this country.
Everyone ive brought in from outside the region had a preconcieved idea of what they would find and none of them could believe the place.

Actualy, hang on a bit, if we tell them the truth they will all want to move here ........................ its rubbish honest, stay away! you wont like it ....................
