Spend at least one day NOT going to any tourist things. No exhibits, memorials, etc. etc.. Just grab coffee somewhere, read the paper, watch TV, go see a movie, or do laundry. Sounds strange, but it's a really good way to see a different side of a new country (and get laundry done) while giving yourself time to relax instead of running all over to fit everything in. Nothing worse then coming home and being able to say you briefly glimpsed a pile of rocks in castle shape while rushing past. It's also a good time to look at flyers and posters to see what sparks interest for the next day.

You must of course visit London, the best City in the World. Then maybe go to Bath, York or Chester as heritage places. Then try some countryside, maybe The Lake District, The Cornish Coast, Scotland etc etc

You've put this question in the Newcastle category.
So are you looking for good places to visit in Newcastle or just the UK in general?
We're kind folk us Brits, and we'll help you have a fantastic holiday. So extend the question and be a bit more specific. where are you visiting, how old are you, do you like culture, scenery, history etc...

It depends where you're staying. If you want good countryside, lakes and walks visit Scotland - If you're adventurous there's lots of opportunity for white water rafting, etc here.
If you want friendly people visit the North. A day shopping in Leeds, a walk on the Yorkshire Dales or the North York Moors and a day in York.
If you like your countryside flat visit the south or Norfolk. If in Norfolk you can get a boat on the Broads.
If you like dirt, unfriendly people and shops to big to actually find anything you like visit London.

Come to Scotland, the Highlands in particular, nice people, beautiful scenery and if you go to Loch Ness you may see Nessie, if she's in a good mood.
