I am heading to London at the end of March, and want to stay there for around 4 months while working. If I can't get a live-in job, I would like to stay in a hostel in or around Ealing (I don't have much money). I am 18, so I can stay in youth places, and I am am looking at somewhere for approx. under 140 pounds a week.

Are there any hostels or cheap hotels/rooms/apartments in that area that I can stay in for that length of time?

Im a student at Goldsmiths in London but never get out into the city for some reason or another... Its pretty far from the depths of new corss, and especially as I refuse to pay the extortionate rates for the tube my prefered method of travel is overground train or bus. £4 for a single? What a joke... anyway, if i do go in i generally get a train to charring cross then walk around in the same places. Its getting a tad boring now, any one got any suggestions to what I could do on the cheap thats interesting? I came here to get out and enjoy the city but its never the case.
Thanks

Hi everyone
i am trying to find the best places in London where i can spend a nice free afternoon/evening either by my self or someone special, somewhere where u can see the best sunset or may be the highest hill in London, few years ago i was in a hill and there is a tower or casel, it was amazing but i don't remember where it was, i know we went there by boat and its in London :(

any special place i would really appreciate it, i live in London and work all the time so i never have time to see the real thing

I've heard comments that London is expensive and else, but if you earn in pounds would it be ok, or still expensive? Are you able to cover all your expenses and save a little bit? (let's say 500 pounds per month or else?)

Are there flats (Studios or 1 Bedroom, for 1 person) in Central London, United Kingdom, that come with Gym facilities, and/or have doormen too? I lived there for 4 years prior, but haven't really noticed any flats with facilities... the best they do is give you a lift (elevator).

My budget is anything below GBP 300 per week.

Thank you in advance! - Karen
