I am looking to rent a flat in Edinburgh. I don't really know the city so would appreciate any advice on particular areas that are nice to live in, and any that I should be wary of. I will be working in the south of the City (not far from the new royal infirmary hospital in Little France), so it would be good to know which areas have good transport links here too. Thanks!!

Ok, I get it, tipping isn't a cultural phenomenon in England and Europe like it is in the U.S. I know that your servers get paid decent hourly wages there, and you never tip a bartender. My question is why, when you visit the states, do you still follow those rules?Do you guys know that we only get paid $3 an hour and rely solely on tips for our income? I love to wait on English tables becaue they are so polite and friendly. But I hate it when I get a poor tip at the end when I gave great service. Do you know how to tip here but just don't? What gives? There little tip cards in the check books that give tipping standards in America. Do you not even read them?

I'll be staying with my Lady, who is English. Not many people will see me in reality but I guess I am just hoping that the English people I have met here in the states will be as nice as the ones I will meet in England. I won't talk about footy seeing as how I don't know anything about it. I don't get into politics and am just as critical of Bush as any other person is. I might have a pint once in a while but not more than one or two before we go home. Hey, I do play a mean guitar and would love to jam out with anyone in Northamptonshire when I get there! Are there any open mic jams in Northampton? I love rock and blues music....Beatles, Zeppelin, Scorpions, Sabbath..I'm really easy to get along with...I'll even pick a little country if somebody wants to put a bass line behind me. Most importantly I'll spend time with my lady while we decide where we're going to settle and such. I can be contacted at synchronicity915@yahoo dot com
Thanks for listening.

Longbrady? Never heard of it. But it is apparantly in Dorset. Go to this page: www.ephotozine.com/gallery/favouritelocations/fullpage.cfm?iLocationID=317
and scroll down until you get to the 5th picture of a waterfall.
Does anybody know where this is, I have tried searching on google, but it doesn't come up with anything.
If you don't know then don't answer.

Currently my flight plans include flying into Manchester, then I'll be at Huddersfield only for 2 or 3 days to sort some matters, and then I plan to work my way down to London.

I'll be around for a month, please recommend places to stop, stay, visit and see as I work my way from Huddersfield up to Scotland for a brief staint, and eventually down to London.

London has to be my last stop because 1, I'll be flying from Heathrow, 2, I plan to visit Canterbury for 4 days minimum to see old friends and my Uni.

As of now I plan to do Scotland, Birmingham, Shiffield, Bath, York, the Lake Districts, maybe Nottingham, might see Manchester and/or Leeds, that's unconfirmed yet. O yeah, and Stonehenge.

What is happening is that I plan to bring my girlfriend to see the UK, I've never really travelled when I was there so I plan to see the sights now, afterall, Reading Rock, Glastonbury or Ozzfest isn't exactly tourist-isy.

Can anyone suggest place to see in those places or others? Thx.
