If Birmingham is as 'cultural' as these answers imply, then why have Brummies got the worse accent in the world, bar none??
Don't the Brummies attend these 'cultural' events? if they do how do they understand them??

To follow on from what others have said Birmingham is certainly not rubbish.

Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery - Its collections cover fine and applied arts, archaelogy and ethnography, natural and social history. It also houses the largest collection of Pre-Raphaelite works in the world, as well as Old Masters and Impressionists.

Ikon Gallery - Situated in the neo-gothic Oozells Street School building, this contemporary art venue shows a continuous programme of changing exhibitions on two floors.

Numerous Theatres - Alexander, Hippodrome, Crescent, The Rep, Old Rep

Birmingham Royal Ballet - Britains premier touring ballet company.

Custard Factory - home to a dynamic community of 500 artists and small creative enterprises. The studio workshops are complemented by a theatre café, antique shops, meeting rooms, dance studios, art galleries, the Medicine Bar and Code nightclub

Symphony Hall - widely recognised as one of the great concert halls in the world.

Midlands Art Centre (MAC) - Set in the magnificent Cannon Hill Park the mac plays a unique role in Birmingham's cultural development, covering all art forms and reflecting the diversity of cultures in the region.

An the list can go on and on.

It isn't. I'm from Manchester and until not long ago the Symphony Hall there was the best classical music concert hall close to us. The magnificent Central Library is also brilliant.

You have obviously never been to Birmingham. Either that, or you have a very strange idea of what culture is.
