I am supposed to be leaving for a trip to Italy in ten days and I still don't have my passport. From the time that I applied it was exactly 8 weeks. I did expedite my passport on March 1st and I am leaving in March 17th. I called them today (March 7th) and still they haven't "picked" it up for the expidite request. I am getting worried that I won't be able to go on my honeymoon trip with my fiance. Anyone have any ideas that would allow us to get the process sped up? Or anyone have any ideas at all?

I often travel wearing those shoes http://www.buffalo-shop.de/res/product200/resource_2844.jpg Sometimes I have to remove them for additional screening, sometimes I can keep them on. Which sole height is considered too high or thick? Is there a general rule?

After the Indonesian plane crash in which a number of people survived the impact, I was wondering if anyone had the expertise to tell me in which seats one is most likely to survive. Presumably this depends on whether the aircraft is taking off or landing?

Having not done a great deal of travelling before I could really use any advice on things like Visa Applications, innoculations, what I will need, any good books on planning trips, places I really should go to and any other tips on what I should take with me and how I should carry it around with me. I'll be gone for about a year. Thanks!

Two upper middle class friends of mine have homes in Mexico and South Africa. Due to the currency differences, they can live like millionaires when they go there.

My questions are:

Why is this? Why is it not equal when converted... doesn't make sense to me.

Is it the same way with large purchases or just the small things? I want to go into the shipping business when I graduate college. Without the financial help of my family. The type of boats I want in the US cost $250,000. Would a large purchase like this be cheaper in other countries?

I love everything Greek. I'd love to have a home in Greece. How do the currency differences effect life there? Thanks for any good answers..

I am going on a 3 week backpacking tour of Europe next month. I am also going back to school as soon as I come back, and I need a backpack to hold my 17" laptop. I wanted to buy just one backpack instead of two to save money. Northdace and Jansport are great backpacks, but my budget is $60. I need the laptop holder, at least two separate compartments and a water bottle holder. Thanks for your help.

Me and my friends are going to a concert in orlando, and we want to stay in a hotel there. My mom said she would book the room, but wont go with us. I have a friend that is 19 that is going, though. Would we be able to get into any hotel rooms in orlando?

Most hotels you need to be 21 to book the room, and 21 to check in. But do you think maybe a dumpy motel would let us in, if we have cash to pay for the room, or a credit card of my moms, and a 19 year old with us?

I live in Austin, and I'm going to New York for Spring Break. I'm still a minor, and I don't know if I need a passport or not to go in-country. I have a school photo ID, but is that enough?

Hi, im just looking to get some good answers regarding hitch hiking. I pick up hitch hikers all the time who explain to me how it can be the best experience of your life. YOu meet amazing people and have great conversations while traveling for very little money. I realize there is a risk of getting killed, but i plan to carry a knife strapped to my leg under my pants, and a can of mase strapped to my belt.

any suggestions? I want to travel from boulder colorado first week of april to san fransisco, up to portland oregon and bellingham washington. then back down and maybe hit mexico before returning in the midle of may to boulder.

experiences and suggestions are appreciated. And please, save your breath on the NO, dont do its--i realize that a majority of people say this before asking the question in the first place. Thanks!
Evan

I was wondering if anyone has taken a vacation there or anyone who lives there can tell me about the tourism there.

I have always wanted to visit Africa ever since I was a little kid. There is this girl I have met online that I really like from Ghana, she want me to visit her in Ghana. This is a perfect excuse for me to take that vacation to Africa that I always wanted.

I was worried about the food and drinking water there? What foods should you stay away from? Do they have bottled water I can buy? How are the hotels? How much should I spend a night on a room in Ghana? How are the restroom facilities?

What about the crime rate in Ghana? Is Ghana a safe country to visit? I read online there has been an increase of thefts by gunpoint or knives. I am worried about my safety if I go there.

If anyone visited there, how much was the total cost? Flight, room & board, food, spending money, etc?
