If you mean Austin Texas, or any other state, to the state of New York, no passport is needed. Passports are for re-entry into the US, not travel between states.

Texas and New York's international treaties don't respect each others passports. Get your Texas passport...but in addition you will need a Visa from the New York state department...for Texas passport holders they tend to take 9 mos to process. Good luck.

Texas to New York will not cross any international boundary, no passport needed. You may need to contact the airline for guidelines concerning minors. Best....Robert

like others said, you don't need a passport to travel domestically. but i wouldn't just bring a school ID though... a government issued ID like driver's license is better. a school ID is not considered enough for going through security at airports.
