What makes them think that they can discriminate against someone carrying some wine from getting in a cab and getting somewhere? How is a bottle of wine so offensive?
In New Orleans and Cincinnati, what about the blind citizens of this country who have every right to take ANY cab they please to get them where they need to go?
These cab drivers won't allow dogs in their cabs either.

I will be visiting Venice, Turin, Milan, Rome, and Naples. I want to take tours of the cities, but I also would like some tips on non-tourist attractions to visit; local restaurants, small shops, parks, etc. And is there anything that is a must-do while I am in any of these towns that a travel source wouldn't list?

I will be visiting Rome for 3 days, 4 nights, in two weeks and can't find any accomidation that combines decent quality (i.e., good customer feedback) with low prices (i am a student). Does anyone have any suggestions for a specific hostel or another housing alternative? Thanks a bunch!

My husband and I are going to Italy in late March and have planned to spend 1/2 our trip in Rome and 1/2 in Florence. I'm getting so excited I can barely stand it! :) To me Rome looks FANTASTIC! The history, the art, the food, the culture....I talked to a lot of people who all said that Florence was a high point of their trip as well. This is why we decided to spend 1/2 of our trip there. But (especially since we are going in early spring and Tuscany will not be at it's best), I guess I don't know what is special about Florence in comparison to Rome. Who has been there? What did you love about it?

I couldn't believe I haven't even heard of this place until today!?!?! I am travelling to Italy (Venice, Florence, Pisa and Rome) and during my research online, came across this website describing Italy as one of the most haunted places in the world?

The more I read about Poveglia, the more I imagine it as something out of a real ghost story. Is it true though, these ghost stories? Or simple something made up by people?

Anybody heard/been to/had experiences with Poveglia before in their life?

Right now the population of Italy is 58 million, and in 2050 it is estimated to be 41 million. Has the Italian government done anything to encourage women to have more children? As the population gets lower will the level of immigration raise or be lowered?
