Lol. I've lived in italy for more than half of my life! I am Italian. Half-American.Hehe Yes, The food is greatt but dont just go for the food. Explore and perhaps enjoy a nice week on the Beaches of Sicily!
lol The people there are very friendly. I think you should go to Venice. A great place for tourists!

If I had to pick a country for its food, it would be Italy. Not only are almost all of the restaurants I've been to there (Naples, Rome, Genoa, Venice) wonderful, but you should not miss the open-air markets.
Walk into one and buy a bag of blueberries, or a chunk of fresh asiago cheese, and make that your lunch.
It's one of the few countries where I feel safe in saying "eat anywhere - you can't go wrong!" Once in a while, ask your hotel concierge for a recommendation - something off the beaten track. That worked very very well for me.

Not just for the food, for the art, the history, the people it's wonderful. The food in Rome is awful even Italians will acknowledge this.

yes! It's gorgeous! :-) But if you came here in Italy don't do it just for food: there're a lot of places to visit!
Ciao! :-)
