Italian regions are 20 (whose 5 have a special status of authonomy, including schools). Children of a certain region can move to other regions and attend the new region's schools but for logistic reasons children go to the schools of their region.of residence. Here is a link with more infos

You have already got answers: Italy is divided in 20 regions (5 of them with special rules); usually, if you choice a public school, you have to go school according where you live (street or city district, not region).

Yes, regional legislature acts exist in Italy, but there nothing of comparable with USA.
Regional legislatures and boards decide about public funding and expenses, large works, environment and territory regulations, etc.
Civil rights, criminal system, tort and other rights along with court system are decided at national level in Italy. In this aspect, instead USA is a very peculiar country

Hi! I'm italian, so I can answer you well!
We have 20 regions, regions can decide something but they depends from the central state.....5 regions with special statute are a little more independant.
Children can go school everywhere in Italy, sure!
