The Circumvesuviana is a local train that runs from Naples all around the Bay of Naples area. There is a station opposite the main entrance to the Pompeii archaeological site - very handy. You can catch the Circumvesuviana train from Napoli Centrale, the main train station in Naples. The trip from the centre of Naples takes around 1 hour.
