looking for somewhere that is safe for children, good views, not too far from beach and local shops but in the countryside

I'm going to Paris this November and I'm wondering about a few things. If I bring $1,200.00 American money, will that be enough for spending? The hotel is paid for, so it will be for food, sightseeing, and souvineers.

And my other question is dress. Are jeans going to be okay to wear in November? What other clothes should I bring? Skirts, pants, and jeans? I'm just not sure. Any help or advice on any of this would be appreciated.

I would prefer something nice with an ocean view, but the ocean view is not a necessity.
I am especially interested in the St Tropez region, but would consider many areas along the coast.
I am looking for something $2,000/mo or under and a good value for the money.

Many thanks for your generous and kind help.

A friend criticised my French grammer today....

Fair enough, it's been three years since I last visited that side of the Channel, but I cannot let this person's insolence go unchecked!

Any suggestions? The best answer must be short, not too offensive, quite comical and simple to remember, if possible.

If you could supply the English translations as well, that would be good! I'd like to know what I'll be getting myself into when I use the insult on my friend....
