I'm not too picky, just a place to put the rucksack down, preferably with a safe in a safe enough district. There's two of us travelling, so a hostel with private rooms available would be fine, anyone reccomend a hotel you stayed in that you enjoyed for less than 60 euro? ok how about 70? cheers!

I was interested in visiting it for a few days, seems an interesting place. Is there any dangers there? Do I need to take any extra precuacions aside from the usual precautions you'd take anywhere?

I plan to go there some time in the future, but I don't know much about it. So far the only things I know is that there over 40,000 Jehovah's Witnesses there. It has 21,000,000 people, It is in Europe, It is a poor country, and the girl of my dreams lives there. LOL Seriously though, what do you know about Romania?

Tomorrow I will arrive to Budapest and have to go from Keleti to Somloi according to this instruction:

"At Keleti you have to take the metro (red) to Deák tér, then change to the other metro (blue) to Ferencziek tere (1 stop). There you have to take bus 8 or 112 and get off at Mészáros street. When you get off, go to the other side of the road by the traffic light and walk up on Avar utca. Then walk up some stairs and there is the building. Address: 1016. Budapest, Somlói út 51."

Could you please give me information as to what kind of ticket(s) and where I have to buy?

What's the best way of going from Vienna airport to the city centre.
I guess it will be the train or subway, but how late does it run? My plane is scheduled to arrive at 11 pm. And you never know, it could always be late.

I am planning to go back to the airport from Bratislava. Is there an easy direct link? or should I return to Vienna first?

Hi, thanks for viewing my question. Well my husband and I are going to be moving to czech fairly soon and he is a mechanic here in the US and wants to continue to do the same in Czech as he is also basically a fluent speaker. I would like to know do you think we could live off his income alone in czech as we would like to have children there and I would love to stay at home or do work for a church in prauge. Should we save money here in the US then when we go to convert the money it is alot of czech money? What should we do about jobs. Oh, and I barely know any czech. How long do you think it will take a mechanic with a college degree and 10 years mechanic experience to find a job? I know we wont have the mass luxury here like we do in the US but my husband desperately is being called to his home land even though he is a US citizen. Thanks! Any answers or advice would be GREATLY appreciated! :)

I want to go to the following places:
Prague
Vienna
Geneva
Paris
Amsterdam
Berlin

Probably in that order, that way I can go in a circle. What is the best way to travel? Eurorail?
I have stand-by tickets to-and-from the US and I plan to stay for at least a month.
I've never backpacked through Europe, but I'm experienced in the ways of the backpack.
How much should I plan to spend while I'm there, including inter-city and inter-country travel?
Tell me everything you think I should know to backpack through Europe including Hostel suggestions for the above mentioned cities. It would be of much help. Thanks!!

I am landing in Frankfurt and want to train to munich, then train to Bratislava (through austria) then train to Prague, and finally up to Berlin. I can't find packages that effectively cover these countries. In fact I barely see Slovakia on any of the websites other than in some "eastern europe packages." Are they not a part of the network? Why is Slovakia not even listed as boardering Austria, am I missing some sort of political distinction from Czech?

going to Europe. They don't seem to care about non smoking rooms but I HATE smoke. Any hints from some way to freshen a room, etc? I have this fear that my luggage and all my clothes are going to stink like smoke the whole time.

I have been trying to get the tickets at www.bahn.de, which I believe is the official German rail system page. I can get to the point of seeing schedules, etc. But the system tells me all the time they cannot give me rates. Is there any page that you know where I could get online tickets (maybe through an intermediary, the same way we buy airline tickets)??
